When you don't keep your strategy consistent or keep a tab on what is most important to an employee that make decisions. An employee thats primary goal for a decision is not how this will help the company grow or save the company money over time. Over the course of a few years a person that makes decision without a focused strategy can lead to a rats nest of problems that have to be dismantled and started over from scratch.
And don't get me started on people who consider there self a marketing person that doesnt consider growth something you be worried about. Those are the same people who don't see a loss of revenue as a problem at all.
